To apply for the South Korea High School Summer Program, students must:
  • Not have visited South Korea in recent years or had much exposure to Korean culture, customs, and/or daily life
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (U.S. permanent residents must arrange for a visa, if necessary on their own at least 2 months before departure)
  • Currently be enrolled as a high school student in the U.S.
  • Be entering 10th, 11th, 12th grade or have just graduated from high school
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale displayed on an official school record, report card, or transcript
Note: This scholarship is intended to be the first step for students to experience Korean culture, language, customs, and daily life.

Awareness Scholarship


Deadline: April 1 and November 1

Description: TWU offers partial scholarships from USD 250 up to USD 1,800. Qualified students may apply based on criteria which may include: academic grade point average, financial need, number and level of courses attempted in high school, rank in class, and information included on the International Awareness Scholarship application. Each scholarship is based upon meeting the individual scholarship requirements and the application competition. The selection of Scholars is based on academic achievement, evaluation of a personal essay, and a personal or telephone interview. For best consideration, it is important for students to apply early by February 1st for admission to the student exchange program at the beginning of the following academic year.

Amount: from USD 250 up to USD 1,800

Criteria: * Meet the necessary requirements for participation in the Two Worlds Youth Travel Programs. * Be currently enrolled as a full time student at a Public or Private High School or College/University. * Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, unless otherwise specified. * Adhere to the Code of Conduct (Program Rules). Two Worlds reserves the right to revoke a scholarship if the recipient fails to adhere to the Two Worlds Code of Conduct.
